Your First Session: What to Expect
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first full online session is 50 minutes and provides a welcoming environment where you can be heard and understood. We’ll start by getting to know each other, including your background, your reasons for seeking therapy and the goals or changes you’d like to focus on.
I’ll explain my approach, answer any questions you have about therapy and we’ll collaborate on how best to structure our sessions to meet your needs. This session is an opportunity for you to get a feel for how we work together and for me to ensure that I can provide the support you’re looking for.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before our first meeting—just come as you are. My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story and exploring your next steps.

Sessions
Thereafter, each session begins with a simple check-in about how you’re arriving that day.
From there, we explore what feels most important — whether it’s a specific event, an emotion or something you’ve been reflecting on. Sessions end with a moment to ground yourself, reflect and plan your next steps.
Small steps...
big change
Choosing to begin therapy — or to return to it — is an act of courage. It means you’re ready to explore your story with honesty, compassion, and curiosity. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t need the perfect words. You only need the willingness to take one small step forward.
